How to use the LENS Detect Dashboard

The LENS Detect Dashboard provides two sets of information.

The first is a “CCTV Camera Mosaic” providing a single view of 2,800 Caltrans CCTV cameras scanned for events or objects. The green neon annotations on the image represent an item LENS Detect has detected for its analysis. It is important to note that items detected at this level are for the LENS system and not statistically significant enough for an officer or analyst to review. The items that are statistically significant enough for an officer or analyst to review will be presented in a separate view in the near future.

The second set of information is the “CCTV Camera List” which provides a detailed view of any of the 2,800 CCTV cameras scanned. A camera that is under construction or not available will display a white square with the camera status labeled.

Both of these views are not intended to be operational tools. They are designed for officers and analysts to be able to see the scale and speed at which LENS Detect operates, to then provide potential inspiration for platform and tool updates LENS can make to better assist in operations.
