Progress in 2025

LENS’s mission is to end traffic accidents — and in 2025, Public Safety Officers & Dispatchers did tremendous work to advance the mission. 

There are three core metrics to measure the progress of the LENS mission:

1. Pre-accidents Detected

2. Accidents Prevented 

3. Lives Saved

On the first two metrics, these were the results: 

• 5,360 Pre-accidents Detected

• 1,072 Accidents Prevented 

The LENS North Star

The North Star for LENS has always been to enable Public Safety Officers to save lives. This became a reality because of the exceptional impact made by the brave officers of the California Highway Patrol in 2025, as featured in the CBS LA story: CHP LA Communications Center using AI to prevent accidents before they happen.
